APMA wants complete control of worship places

PESHAWAR: The All Pakistan Minorities Alliance (APMA) demanded on Monday that minorities be given complete control of their worship places and that a person belonging to a minority group be made head of the Evacuee Trust Property Board.

In a statement, the APMA said minorities had been playing a vital role for the solidarity, development and prosperity of the country since its creation.

APMA Chairman Shahbaz Bhatti, who along with APMA leaders and minority members of assemblies visited Gurdwara Joga Singh in Peshawar, said minorities were considered second-rate citizens and “untouchables” in this country.

Bhatti said the APMA was struggling for the rights of the oppressed class, religious freedom and economic, social, political and educational development.
